Local Line Launches Marketing Services

Since day one of Local Line, we’ve followed a simple rule: if it’s good for the farmer, it’s good for us. Our goal is to be the most farmer-centric platform out there, and as of today, we’ve taken another important step in accomplishing that goal. 

Sometimes, the hardest part of operating a farm isn’t growing the food; it’s selling it. Farmers tend to be expert growers, not expert salesmen. Yet, in order to succeed, many farmers have embraced learning the necessary sales & marketing skills to sell their products and build a loyal customer base.

We like to think we’ve played a small part in arming farms with sales knowledge over the years. We write free blogs and e-books, host free webinars, and last year, we co-published a 400-page book titled Ready Farmer One: The Farmers Guide to Selling and Marketing. We’ve also done various partnerships with industry experts. For example, we collaborate closely with Corinna from MyDigitalFarmer on her accelerator, podcast, and newsletter. 

While we’re certainly proud of the content we’ve published, we know that sometimes the missing ingredient to success isn’t knowledge, it’s time. Over the past year, we noticed an increase in the number of farmers asking us to produce marketing material for them or asking us to manage some of their marketing activities. We decided to offer some marketing services for farms on our Ultimate subscription plan as a way to test whether these sorts of services would work. As it turns out, farms on our Ultimate subscription found the services invaluable, so we’ve decided to formally launch Local Line Services, a handful of sales & marketing services that you can hire our team to do for you. 

Starting today, you can now hire Local Line for the following sales & marketing related services:

  2. Logo and Brand Design
  3. Facebook and Google Advertising
  4. Social Media Content
  5. SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
  6. Newsletter Writing

Here’s a brief overview of each service:

Website Build

We’ll build you an awesome website or rebuild your existing website! We offer two packages: A ‘Basic Website’ that includes six pages (ex: About us, Shop, Contact, etc.) and costs $999. Or, a ‘Plus Website’ that includes twelve pages and costs $1,999. We can build your website on any of the popular website platforms, but we prefer to use our own website builder that’s already integrated with the Local Line e-commerce platform.

Logo & Brand Design

The importance of a clear, thoughtful, and timeliness logo should not be underestimated. Over time, your logo is what people will recognize most about your farm. And a matching brand is what ties it all together. Our team will use the same design principles we used to build Local Line’s brand for your farm. We can do multiple revisions until you’re thrilled with the result. The cost for each logo & brand package is $999.

Facebook and Google Advertising

When you want to attract new customers, we can help you affordably grow your audience using Facebook and Google advertising. Our team has been running ads on Facebook and Google for years, and we’ve learned what works and what doesn’t. We will build your ads and launch your campaigns. Then, we’ll help you measure your results. The cost for this service is $199/month and includes 3 different ads running in 3 unique ad campaigns. 

Social Media Content

If you’re anything like us, you spend too much time creating and curating content for your social media accounts. Keeping customers up to date with a steady stream of on-farm content can be time-consuming. And if we’re being honest, sometimes farm life just ain't that glamorous. Thankfully, our team has created thousands of social media posts, and we’re ready to create them for you too, so you can focus fully on farming while growing your follower count at the same time. The cost for Social Media Content is $399/month, and it includes eight posts per month that can be posted to all your social media accounts. 

SEO (Search Engine Optimization)

Every day, potential customers go to Google to search for local food near them. Utilizing the proper SEO techniques ensures that your farm will be included in those search results. Our SEO service includes an initial ‘Recommendations Report’ where we deep dive into your website, create a list of SEO improvements, and then execute them for you. The cost for that report is a one-time fee of $499. After that, our ongoing SEO Management service is $99/month and includes ongoing SEO maintenance and enhancements to continue to increase your online discoverability. 

Newsletter Writing

Great storytelling takes time, and sometimes, the last thing you want to do at the end of a long day is to sit down for an hour and craft a high-quality, thoughtful newsletter for your customers. Most of the time, newsletters are done hastily, and they’re repetitive. It’s easy to fall into the trap of writing about the same things over and over. Eventually, you’ll start to notice your open rate decrease and your click-through rate flatline. That’s where we come in. If you’ve read any of our newsletters (sign up below!), you’ll know that we like to keep them brief and use humor where possible. We try to make them memorable. Inboxes are a busy place, and it’s tough to stand out. But if you hire us to write your newsletters, you won’t have to worry about that anymore. We’ll do the work to make your newsletter stand out in a sea of other newsletters fighting for your customers' attention. Our Newsletter Writing service covers one newsletter per month and costs $99/month. 

Some services are a one-time cost (Website Build and Logo & Brand), and some are monthly costs (Facebook & Google Ads, Social Media Content, SEO, and Newsletter Writing). We did this (obviously) because some of the services are a one-time project, whereas others are ongoing programs that require management, analysis, and improvements. We did our best to keep the pricing as low as possible. Our pricing is certainly more affordable than most other marketing agencies, but alas, labor is expensive, and if you want the job done right, you need a professional! That said, as is the case with the Local Line platform, there’s no minimum contract length. You can pay month-to-month for each service. At the end of the day, if you bought every service plus a premium Local Line subscription, you’d have all of your marketing and e-commerce needs covered for far less than the cost of one full-time employee. 

For now, Local Line Services are limited only to existing Local Line customers. Of course, if you’re a new incoming customer you can also include any of our services as part of your initial purchase. Our intention is to apply our expertise to help as many Local Line customers as possible.
