Local Line Announces Pricing Updates

Starting today, we are updating our subscription pricing for new farms joining Local Line. Existing customers will remain on their current pricing plan for the next 12 months before moving to the new pricing.

We’re fortunate that so many farms share with us what’s working and what could be better about Local Line. Every year or two, to better serve the needs of our farmers, we sit down as a team and relook at what our pricing plans are compared to what farmers tell us they need. When we spot important differences, we make improvements! 

Moving forward, we will still offer four different pricing options (Starter, Core, Premium, and Ultimate). Starter and Core are increasing in price, but they will include more features. The Premium price is staying the same, and the price for Ultimate is being reduced by 50%. 

Below are tables that outlines the updates. Any feature not listed below is staying the same.

Starter Plan

Farms on our Starter plan consistently had more than 30 products, which made it difficult to manage which products they wanted to make available. We don’t want to make farmers' lives more difficult in any way, so we’ve decided to remove the 30 product limit and allow farms on our Starter plan to sell an unlimited number of products. 

We also learned that most farms that are starting out don’t want/need online payments. Many try to actively avoid paying credit card fees, and given farms on our Starter plan are usually smaller operations, managing the payment collection for their smaller customer bases’ is more manageable. As a result, we’re switching the online/offline payment availability in Starter. Now, if you sign up for the Starter plan, you’ll be able to offer multiple types of offline payment (cash, ACH, e-transfer, check, etc), and you won’t have online payments. *Note - for those existing farms already on our Starter plan, you will continue to be able to accept online payments in addition to offline payments.

Lastly, we decided to include the Reports & Analytics feature and Integrations, which will help farms on our Starter plan gain valuable knowledge of their most important business metrics and save valuable time on admin work by integrating their various systems. 

Core Plan

We’re increasing the price of our core plan by $20/month, but we’re adding $40/month of value to it. For example, today, if a farm on our Core plan wanted advanced inventory and 5 vendors, the cost would be $119/month but now, it’s $99/month. 

Many of the farms on our Core plan today also add advanced inventory, so it made the most sense to include it moving forward. We also noticed more and more Core plan customers adding vendors as they turn their farms into mini-hubs. Extra vendors in addition to what’s included in each plan cost $5/month, so by increasing the included vendor count from 2 to 5, we’re able to make it easier for farms to save money while adding more vendors. 

Premium Plan

The price for our Premium plan is staying the same. The only changes we’re making is that we are reducing the number of price lists from 10 to 5 (you can buy more for $24/month if needed), and we are increasing the vendor count from 5 to 10. We’re making this switch because most customers on our Premium plan don’t use more than 5 price lists, but many use more than 5 vendors. 

Our Premium plan is the best ‘bang for your buck’ because it includes all of our premium features, including advanced inventory, store credit, subscriptions, etc. 

Ultimate Plan

Over the past year, there’s been a lot of demand for our Ultimate plan, but the price point was prohibitive. We’re cutting the price of the Ultimate plan in half, and as a result, we’re reducing the number of included price lists and vendors by the same ratio. We’re also removing the Custom Marketing Content service because that’s been replaced with our recently announced Local Line Services, and we’re adding a Custom Reporting feature, so any farm on our Ultimate plan can have custom reports built by our team to suit their needs. 

In addition to the changes to our 4 pricing plans, we’re also making some adjustments to the price of our add ons: 

None of these changes are meant to dramatically change the price our customers pay or change the way they use Local Line. We simply repackaged some of our features to better deliver what farms were asking us for!
