Local Line and Perennia Food & Agriculture Inc. are pleased to announce their partnership to support Nova Scotian food producers during COVID-19.

Perennia is a development agency for Nova Scotia-based agriculture, seafood, food and beverage sectors. They represent Nova Scotian producers across the province and have purchased bulk licenses from Local Line. Through COVID-related provincial funding, eligible farmers and food and beverage processors can use the Local Line platform for up to six months, free of charge.

The Local Line platform will allow approved Nova Scotian farmers and food businesses to list and sell their products online. Customers can visit their online store, shop their products, and place an order for pick up or delivery.

“We are excited to help farmers and food producers in Nova Scotia to continue to operate and sell products through the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Cole Jones, CEO of Local Line. “Now more than ever people want to feel more connected to their communities, and they want to know the food they’re purchasing is safe and healthy.”

“We recognize the importance of getting Nova Scotia farms and food and beverage businesses online selling their products directly to consumers,”  shares Lynne Godlien, Chief Executive Officer of Perennia Food and Agriculture. “We are pleased to work with Local Line to offer a program that helps these businesses quickly and easily create professional websites with eCommerce features. We know how essential it is and hope that this program will be one way to help.”

Soon households and individuals across Nova Scotia will be able to buy and support their local farmers from home.
