Canadian companies Local Line and ChefTorial announced today the launch of a new partnership, a virtual culinary experiences platform. As an e-commerce platform for farmers, Local Line will now offer white-labelled cooking classes for its farmers to market to their customers.

Small-scale farmers grow unique products not often found in grocery stores, and consumers may find themselves at a loss in the kitchen when faced with unfamiliar produce or a new cut of meat. More households than ever are looking to cook at home with fresh ingredients, and bolstered by the Covid-19 pandemic, the ease of buying online from local farms is a growing trend among young families.

With this partnership, farmers and markets currently using Local Line will be able to provide their customers with individualized cooking experiences powered by ChefTorial, a nationwide team of chefs hosting virtual classes and supper clubs.

The process is very simple.

Farmers select which products, recipes, and cuisine they want to share with their customers. The farmer is then connected with a personal chef, who crafts the dish, sets the date and cost, and creates a shopping list of farm-fresh ingredients for participants.

The event itself runs through ChefTorial’s virtual platform and allows farmers to seamlessly inform their customers on how to cook their products while providing a unique, local experience in a format that has seen a noteworthy boom throughout the pandemic.

“We’re very excited about this offering. Farmers often tell us they feel like a bit of a broken record at the market describing the best ways to cook their products. Moving forward, instead of describing it, they will be able to host a professional cooking class taught by a chef,” shares Cole Jones, CEO at Local Line.

The company will also be creating a marketplace to provide local food options for attendees of ChefTorial events. This online marketplace will feature Local Line users that are available in the region and sell products relevant to the event, increasing exposure for these farmers.

“Chefs helping farmers! This is an amazing opportunity for our company.to partner with such an impactful brand. We strive to connect with leaders in their fields in growing ChefTorial.   Local Line checks all of the requirements on our list and more! Our team is thrilled to be part of their journey helping farmers grow their businesses,” says Rivers Corbett CEO at ChefTorial.

“We are beyond excited to be able to offer this to our customers and provide them with an added experience they can sell to their customers,” says Jones. “This partnership helps our [farmers] increase their revenue, connect with their customers, and gain exposure throughout their community.”
